In Osh, the implementation of a project to expand the sewage treatment facilities will begin in two months. This became known at a meeting of the parliamentary committee on international affairs, defense, security, and migration, where Azamat Shadmanov, the director of the State Institution "Development of Drinking Water Supply and Wastewater Disposal" under the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry, spoke.

Shadmanov reported that within the framework of the project, sub-loan and sub-grant agreements will be prepared, and funding will be provided through tariffs that will be paid by local authorities. He also added: "The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is providing a loan with a fixed interest rate of 1%, as well as a floating rate—'Euribor,' which is reviewed every six months and currently stands at about 3%. There are even cases where the rate can reach zero, so the exact data on overpayment is not yet clear."

Deputy Minister Asel Kenebaeva, responding to questions from deputies, clarified that out of the total funding, 4.3 million soms are non-repayable grants, while 4 million soms are loan funds that will need to be repaid.

As a result of the discussion, the deputies unanimously supported the project and sent it for further consideration to the Jogorku Kenesh.
