In the city of Kant, a pawnshop employee was detained on suspicion of embezzlement and misappropriation of entrusted property, reported the press service of the Main Internal Affairs Department of the Chui region.
It became known that on January 11, 2026, a resident of T.C., born in 1999, filed a report about an offense committed by citizen S.M. She worked as an appraiser-cashier at the pawnshop "U.P." and, being a materially responsible person, issued fictitious loans at inflated values, misappropriating the received funds.
According to preliminary data, from November 2024 to December 31, 2025, the amount of misappropriated funds totaled 4 million soms.
In connection with this incident, a criminal case was initiated under Article 210 (Embezzlement and misappropriation of entrusted property) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
According to Article 96 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, the suspect, born in 1986, was detained and placed in a temporary detention facility.
The investigation is ongoing.
