In the capital of Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek, law enforcement agencies have detained a man accused of domestic violence.
According to information from the Sverdlovsk District Department of Internal Affairs, on January 27, 2026, a woman named M.D. reported to the police that her husband had systematically subjected her to physical and psychological abuse for a long time.
The department emphasized that measures in the form of protection orders had previously been taken against this man due to instances of domestic violence. Nevertheless, according to the investigation, he continued to commit illegal acts.
A criminal case has been initiated against him under part 3 of Article 138 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, concerning torture. The suspect has been placed in a temporary detention facility.
The investigation of this case is ongoing.
