According to representatives of the Lenin District Department of Internal Affairs of the capital, the incident occurred on February 11, 2026, when M. E. requested intervention in the situation. She reported that her ex-husband had come to her home again, insulted her, and used physical force, twisting her arms.
Since the divorce in August 2020, the woman had faced regular manifestations of violence from her ex-husband.
The investigation established that from 2025 to 2026, M. E. repeatedly contacted the police; however, the violence continued, and the measures taken against the man were insufficient. As a result, a criminal case was initiated for the fact of violence under Article 138 "Torture" of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. The suspect, A. A., born in 1989, was placed in the temporary detention facility of the Main Department of Internal Affairs of Bishkek.
