In the Talas region, a large-scale operation called "Arsenal" is being conducted, initiated by the Internal Affairs Department of the Talas region from February 12 to 20, 2026.

During the inspections, officers from the Internal Affairs Department of the Bakai-Ata district are checking firearm owners for compliance with storage regulations.

Local residents voluntarily handed over 8 units of firearms to the police, including 7 gas traumatic pistols and 1 smoothbore firearm.

Four administrative protocols have been drawn up against owners for failing to comply with established storage norms.

Police officers emphasize that the main goal of the "Arsenal" operation is to prevent crimes related to firearms and to combat their illegal circulation. "Owners must strictly adhere to the rules: firearms must be kept in secure safes that exclude access to unauthorized persons. Violation of these norms entails administrative liability and may lead to the revocation of permits," the Internal Affairs Department informs.

Preventive measures will continue throughout the region until February 20.
