On January 15, 2026, at around 01:20, a report of a traffic accident on Kulatov Street, opposite the "Altyn-Ordo" restaurant, was received by the city police department of Kyzyl-Kiya, where a Volkswagen Passat struck a person. The driver left the vehicle at the scene and fled the accident site.
This incident was recorded in the electronic log of the Kyzyl-Kiya police department, after which an investigation began. An operational group arrived at the scene and conducted an inspection.
During the investigation, it was established that at the 83rd kilometer of the Osh–Razakov highway, passing through Kyzyl-Kiya, a silver Volkswagen Passat, traveling from east to west, hit a 74-year-old local resident. Unfortunately, the victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Employees of the Kyzyl-Kiya Internal Affairs Department conducted operational search activities, as a result of which the owner of the vehicle was identified. Thanks to video surveillance located throughout the city, a resident of the Uch-Korgon rural district of the Kadamjay region, born in 1992, named Zh.B., was detained and handed over to the investigative service.
Currently, investigative actions are ongoing in this case.
