According to information provided by law enforcement agencies, the incident occurred on January 4, 2026, at around 21:35. A call was received at the Kadamjai police station reporting that a teenager had been struck by a vehicle on the Osh—Razakov highway, near the village of Kök-Talaa, and the driver managed to flee the scene without assisting the victim.
“The incident was documented at the Kadamjai police station, and a preliminary investigation was initiated. The operational investigative group working at the scene established that a resident born in 2015 from the village of Pum was crossing the road from south to north at the 100th kilometer of the Osh—Razakov highway when he was hit by an unknown vehicle traveling at high speed,” the department reported.
As a result of operational search activities conducted by district police officers, traffic safety inspectors, and criminal investigation operatives, as well as with the help of surveillance cameras, the suspect was identified.
The suspect turned out to be a 30-year-old resident of the village of Chechme in the Birlik rural district of the Kadamjai region named T.Z., who has been placed in a temporary detention facility.
Currently, the teenager is in a coma,” the statement notes.
