A citizen suspected of a serious crime resulting in a death has been detained in Talas.
According to the press service of the regional Internal Affairs Directorate, on the night of January 11, 2026, a call was received at the Talas District Internal Affairs Department from the Talas Regional Unified Hospital, reporting that an unknown man had been brought in in critical condition.
On the same day, a local resident, E.S., approached the Talas District Internal Affairs Department, stating that his father, E.Z., born in 1968, had passed away. He requested that law enforcement investigate who was responsible for this incident and take action in accordance with the law. The statement was registered, after which a preliminary investigation was initiated.
During operational search activities, employees of the Talas District Internal Affairs Department detained the suspect — T.B., born in 1977, also a resident of the Talas district. According to preliminary data, he had been drinking alcoholic beverages with the deceased at his home. As a result of a conflict that arose, while in a state of intoxication, he struck E.Z. on the head with a stick.
The victim died in the hospital. A forensic medical examination has been appointed in this regard.
A criminal case has been initiated against T.B. by the Talas District Internal Affairs Department under Article 130, Part 3, Clause 1 ("Causing serious harm to health"). The suspect has been placed in a temporary detention facility.
