In the Jalal-Abad region, a serviceman has been detained on suspicion of driving another soldier to suicide, as reported by local media citing data from the Military Prosecutor's Office.
A criminal case has been opened under Article 128, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, which pertains to driving someone to suicide. The suspect is a serviceman identified as M.M., born in 2006. He is currently in a temporary detention facility in the city of Manas.
The Military Prosecutor's Office noted that all necessary examinations have been appointed. A legal assessment of the actions of the employees of the Department of Security and Convoy of the State Penitentiary Service will also be conducted. Investigative authorities continue to determine the possible involvement of other individuals in this incident.
As previously mentioned, on January 5 of this year, an 18-year-old soldier was found dead in correctional facility No. 10, located in the village of Bai-Munduz in the Bazar-Korgon district. He served in the battalion of the Department of Security and Convoy of the State Penitentiary Service. According to preliminary information, at 15:25, the serviceman shot himself with his service weapon and died on the spot.
Representatives of law enforcement agencies and the department's leadership arrived at the scene of the tragedy. The Bazar-Korgon District Police Department and the Military Prosecutor's Office of the Jalal-Abad garrison are conducting an investigation into the circumstances of the incident.
