From February 21 to 22, the city championship and championship in Shotokan Karate-Do took place in Bishkek. This information was provided by the city administration.
About 450 athletes representing various clubs and sections of the city participated in the event.
The competitions were held in two main disciplines:
- kata - demonstration of technical skills, precision of movements, and inner concentration;
- kumite - sparring matches in which participants demonstrated speed, accuracy, and tactical techniques.
In the team standings, the following winners were determined:
- 1st place was taken by the SKIF-Bishkek club (55 gold, 52 silver, 58 bronze medals);
- 2nd place - STAR karate club (32 gold, 35 silver, 24 bronze medals);
- 3rd place - Shito-ryu karate club (1 bronze medal).
