On March 1 in Tokyo (Japan), Zhyrgal Toktoshev successfully finished the marathon, covering a distance of 42 km 195 meters and setting a personal record of 2 hours, 53 minutes, and 32 seconds.

Joining Toktoshev for the Tokyo marathon in 2025 are his compatriots Aibek Jalalov and Bakhtiyar Ganiev.

Currently, Toktoshev has completed four out of the seven marathons required to earn the "six-star" medal. Last year, he participated in the majors held in Berlin (Germany), New York, and Chicago (USA).

To achieve his goal, he still needs to run marathons in Boston (USA) and London (United Kingdom). Additionally, in 2025, Sydney (Australia) will be added to the list of major marathons, participation in which will provide the opportunity to earn a seven-star medal.

According to information on the official Abbott World Marathon Majors website, only one person from Kyrgyzstan has the "canonical six-star" medal, which includes marathons in Tokyo, Boston, London, Berlin, Chicago, and New York.
