In light of the recent airstrikes by the United States and the growing tensions in the region, FIFA continues to assure that the Iranian national team will be able to participate in the 2026 World Cup.
The Iranian team has scheduled two matches in Los Angeles and one in Seattle. Previously, representatives of the Iranian Football Federation expressed doubts about the team's participation; however, FIFA noted that they are closely monitoring the situation and working in cooperation with the host countries to ensure the safety of both players and fans.
Matias Grafström, Secretary of the FIFA General Secretariat, emphasized that the organization is making every effort to ensure that teams can travel safely and participate in the tournament matches.
