FC Tottenham fined for fans' Nazi gestures

UEFA has announced that measures have been taken in response to "racist and/or discriminatory behavior" from fans. The ban on attending away matches will be in effect for one year and may be activated in the event of a repeat violation of the rules. Additionally, the club has been fined €2,250 for the incident involving throwing objects at Deutsche Bank Park stadium.

Representatives of Tottenham stated that they actively cooperated with the investigation conducted by UEFA and the German police and were able to identify all three offenders, who are now banned from attending club matches indefinitely. In their official statement, the club emphasized that it categorically condemns any forms of discrimination and noted that the actions of individual fans do not reflect the values of the team.

On the football field, Tottenham secured a 2-0 victory under their former coach Thomas Frank, which ensured the team’s advancement to the Round of 16 in the Champions League, where they will face Atletico Madrid. The first leg will take place on March 10 in Spain, and the return match will be held on March 18 in North London.

Despite their successes in the Champions League, the team is facing difficulties in the English league, currently sitting in 16th place and just five points above the relegation zone. Midfielder Yves Bissouma noted that the club needs to make significant efforts to improve its results.
