Athletes from three countries participated in the KR Championship in ice climbing

In the Ala-Archa gorge, the Open Championship of the Kyrgyz Republic in ice climbing was held, dedicated to the 45th anniversary of the climbing section "SKIF-Polytech." The event took place at the Ak-Sai ice waterfall.

More than 40 athletes representing Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Kazakhstan participated in the competition.

The President of the Federation of Mountaineering and Sport Climbing of Kyrgyzstan, Eduard Kubatov, noted that the international participation of competitors added significance to the championship as an open platform for sports exchange and interaction among representatives of mountain sports from these countries.

The competitions were held on specially prepared ice routes created on the natural terrain of the Ak-Sai waterfall. Ice climbing requires high physical fitness, endurance, and precise skills for moving on ice, making this discipline one of the most technically complex in mountain sports.

The championship was organized by the Directorate for Non-Olympic Sports under the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports of Kyrgyzstan and the Federation of Mountaineering and Sport Climbing of the country.

Safety at the competitions was ensured by employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kyrgyzstan, who were on duty at the site and ready for quick response in emergency situations.

The chief judge of the championship, Nasiba Eshmuradova, emphasized that the event is aimed at developing mountain sports in the country, strengthening the traditions of the national school of mountaineering, and promoting a culture of safe presence in the mountains.
