
Samad Erkinbekov has become the new director of the Directorate for Non-Olympic Sports, which was officially announced at a meeting with the staff. The head of the department for analysis and development of high-performance sports, Kubanych Ermekov, noted that the new leader faces an important task of improving the training of athletes for international competitions, as well as developing non-Olympic disciplines and supporting young talents.
Erkinbekov will work with a three-month probationary period and will begin to perform his duties starting today. His responsibilities include coordinating sports programs, organizing training camps, and preparing national teams for regional and international tournaments.
The Directorate for Non-Olympic Sports is responsible for disciplines that are not included in the Olympic Games, as well as for sports popular among youth and new directions, which underscores the strategic importance of this position for the development of the sports sector in Kyrgyzstan.
