The first race of the day was the Turners Novices' Hurdle, in which the horse King Rasco Gray took first place. However, the race was marred by an incident between jockeys Nico de Boinville and Declan Queally, although they managed to avoid serious consequences and continue the competition. In a tense battle for victory in the Brown Advisory Novices' Chase, the horse Kitzbühel was able to overtake his opponent Final Demand at the finish.
