
On February 23, 2026, a meeting took place in Doha between Seregelan Purev, the Ambassador of Mongolia to Kuwait, and Badr Al-Darwish, the President of the Qatar Equestrian Federation and Modern Pentathlon. This was reported by the Qatar Federation on its Facebook page (Qatar Equestrian Federation & Modern Pentathlon).
During this meeting, the ambassador presented the rich traditions of Mongolia in horse racing, including racetrack competitions and various equestrian sports. The parties discussed opportunities for joint cooperation and experience exchange in these areas. Seregelan also shared information about the resolution proposed by the President of Mongolia regarding the establishment of a "World Horse Day," which was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly. He invited representatives of Qatar, co-authors of this resolution, to participate in the World Equestrian Festival, which will take place from July 11 to 13.

Badr Al-Darwish, President of the Qatar Equestrian Federation and Modern Pentathlon, emphasized that his country holds a leading position in the region in equestrian sports and horse breeding, as well as in organizing international competitions. He expressed interest in establishing cooperation with Mongolia through athlete exchanges, joint training, and organizing competitions. Al-Darwish also confirmed his participation in events dedicated to the "World Horse Day."
