At the meeting of the Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh on labor, health, women's affairs, and social issues on February 24, Deputy Minister of Health Bakytbek Kadyraliev reported that from the beginning of 2023 until February 1, 2026, more than 2.5 million citizens of Kyrgyzstan underwent free laboratory testing for viral hepatitis. In particular, the screening covered 2 million 506 thousand 791 people.

During the conducted screening, 40 thousand 942 cases of hepatitis B, 23 thousand 39 cases of hepatitis C, and 1,067 cases of hepatitis D were identified.

Citizens with negative test results have the opportunity to receive free vaccination. Those with positive results are referred for treatment at family medicine centers, he added.

In addition, in collaboration with the Center for Electronic Health, an integrated register of patients with viral hepatitis has been created, which is linked to the electronic outpatient card. More than 260 thousand records have already been entered into this register.
