In Kyrgyzstan, 195,000 newborn screenings were conducted in 2025

According to information from the Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan, in 2025, 194,682 newborn screenings were conducted.

Of these examinations, more than 80,000 infants were tested for congenital pathologies.

In particular, 84,216 newborns underwent testing for congenital hypothyroidism, resulting in 10 registered cases of the disease.

Screening for adrenal hyperplasia was conducted for 60,753 children, and the diagnosis was confirmed in only two cases.

Testing for phenylketonuria was performed on 49,713 newborns, of which three showed signs of the disease.

The Ministry of Health emphasizes that early diagnosis plays a key role in initiating timely treatment and preventing serious complications.
