A citizen of Ghana, who arrived in Mongolia on a tourist visa, overstayed his visa and was illegally residing in Ulaanbaatar, has been deported. The citizen entered Mongolia in 2024 on an electronic tourist visa of category K2, and it was established that he had overstayed his temporary guest visa and was living in the country illegally. This was reported by MiddleAsianNews.
Thus, the Ghanaian citizen was fined in accordance with current legislation and deported with a two-year ban on re-entry to Mongolia.
Despite the fact that citizens of Ghana are provided the opportunity to obtain an electronic tourist visa for up to 30 days, cases of visa violations, such as overstaying the visa and engaging in unauthorized activities, are becoming increasingly frequent.
In 2025, a total of 10 citizens of Ghana were deported, most of whom were deported from Mongolia for violating the conditions of temporary guest visas.
