From February 27 to 28 and on March 1, audiences will be able to see the premiere of the solo performance "Medea" at the A. Umuraliev Bishkek Drama Theater.
According to information from the theater's press service, this solo performance is based on a play by Nina Mazur and depicts a deep confession of a woman driven to extremes by love, betrayal, and loneliness.
The production, led by the talented actress and honored artist of Kyrgyzstan Dinara Abdykadyrova, transforms the ancient plot into a relevant and sharp statement about suffering, vulnerability, and the destructive power of passion. Medea, as portrayed by her, is a woman who has given herself entirely to love and as a result has lost everything.
Audiences will witness the journey that leads from tender love to rage, from hope to deep disappointment and abyss. This is not just a story of revenge, but a depiction of a soul that has ceased to be submissive and convenient,” the theater added.
The direction of the performance is by Alexander Panin, and the set design was developed by Zuhra Mukambetova.
