From January 23 to 25, the A. Umuraliev Bishkek City Drama Theater will host the premiere of the play "Uncle's Dream," based on the novella of the same name by F.M. Dostoevsky.

As stated in the theater's announcement, the production is directed by Ulanmyrza Karypbaev, with scenography by Sadyr Niyazakunov. The costume designer is Zuhra Mukambetova, and the choreography was created by Rezeda Gayanova from St. Petersburg.

The work "Uncle's Dream" is a provincial anecdote, skillfully developing into a gallery of characters and morals typical of the Russian province. It is one of Dostoevsky's most satirical works, in which the writer exposes the hypocrisy and despotism hidden behind beautiful words.

The play features a lot of grotesque and farce, with characters depicted vividly, emphasizing their eccentricity and expressiveness.
