According to the agency, O.S.M., while serving as the head of the water management in the Ak-Suu district, used his official position for personal gain from 2018 to 2025. He illegally leased a service excavator to third parties.
At the same time, the amount received from the lease was 625,000 soms, but this money was not transferred to the budget of the department and was embezzled by O.S.M.
As a result of frequent and unlawful use of the excavator by third parties, the equipment became unusable and is currently not operational. The estimated market value of the excavator is 800,000 soms.
According to the GKNB, the total amount of damage caused to the state by O.S.M. amounted to 1,425,000 soms. The official has been placed in the detention center of the city of Karakol, and the investigation is ongoing.
