- During the plenary session of the Jogorku Kenesh on February 11, 2026, deputy Cholpon Esenamanova raised a question about the possible construction of a processing plant in Talas in 2026.

She noted that the Talas region has significant reserves of beans, and local residents are in dire need of a processing plant.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture Bakyt Torobaev reported that there is indeed a problem with beans, as their prices depend on global quotations.

According to Torobaev, the price of beans has fallen from $1600 to $930 per ton.

“We conducted a market analysis and decided to implement fumigation of beans and their packaging,” he added.

The minister also noted that beans are a source of protein, and the possibility of including them in the diet of military personnel and schoolchildren is being discussed.

He emphasized that the beans in Talas have significantly decreased in size, which requires farmers to update varieties and possibly switch to other crops.

Torobaev also reported that in 2025, the government purchased 1000 tons of beans from farmers at a price of 95 soms per kilogram.

Currently, information from the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic is being considered regarding preparations for the spring fieldwork in 2026.
