The Ministry of Energy has announced plans to replace more than two thousand outdated wooden power poles with new reinforced concrete ones in the Issyk-Kul region in 2026.
The outdated structures, which were installed in the 1960s-70s, have already significantly exceeded their normative service life and are currently in an emergency state.
The update will take place in the following distribution electrical networks (RES) in 2026:
- Ak-Suisky — 258 poles
- Karakolsky — 260 poles
- Zheti-Oguzsky — 263 poles
- Tonsky — 543 poles
- Cholpon-Ata — 314 poles
- Tupsky — 229 poles
- Balakchinsky — 282 poles
It is worth noting that in 2025, over 1500 reinforced concrete poles were already installed in the region.
“The new poles will be manufactured at our plant located at the Balakchinsky RES, which has been operating since 2017. Here, poles of the brands SV-110 and SV-95 are produced, meeting the necessary standards of quality and reliability,” the ministry reported.
