Verification is necessary for accurate automatic tax calculation for 2026
The State Tax Service reminds citizens and enterprises of the importance of verifying information about their real estate with the data provided by state registration authorities.
This includes reconciling the information contained in ownership documents with data from the information system of the State Agency for Land Resources, Cadastre, Geodesy, and Cartography (GU "Cadastre"), which operates under the government.
Taxpayers, both individuals and legal entities, are advised to check the following data in advance:
Tax Identification Number (TIN);
Name or title of the owner;
Areas of properties and land plots;
Purpose of the real estate;
Shares;
Dates of purchase or sale;
Other important information.
The GNS emphasizes that updating this data is crucial for the correct automatic calculation of tax on residential and non-residential properties for 2026. The agency strongly recommends completing this in advance to avoid possible errors in calculations.
According to current tax legislation, tax authorities are responsible for calculating and assessing property tax, while taxpayers are only required to pay the assessed amounts on time.
It is also worth noting that in 2025, the first phase of implementing the automatic property tax assessment system for residential properties was successfully completed. In 2026, the second phase is planned — the automation of tax calculation for non-residential properties. These steps are aimed at simplifying the process of calculating local taxes and improving conditions for citizens.
