According to the National Bank, Kyrgyzstan's international reserves as of January 2026 amounted to $10 billion 177.18 million, which is a historical maximum.

Comparing with the same period in 2025, when reserves were $5 billion 190.86 million, it can be noted that they have nearly doubled, with a net increase of over 96 percent for the year.

Throughout 2025, reserve figures demonstrated steady growth. At the beginning of June, the volume of assets was $6 billion 508.42 million, and by October, this figure had approached $8 billion.

The most significant growth occurred in the last months: from December 2025 to January 2026, reserves increased by $1 billion 574.04 million, which corresponds to 18.3 percent.

It is important to note that the gold and foreign currency reserves of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic serve as a "safety cushion" for the economy, ensuring the stability of the national currency and liquidity during external payments. The current volume of assets is the highest in the entire history of the country's independence.
