In 2026, Kazakhstan assumed the presidency of the Eurasian Economic Union and outlined priority areas for further development. This was announced at a briefing by Danil Ibraev, a member of the Presidium of the Business Council of the EAEU.

According to him, the main task for the integration association is to maintain the achieved growth rates.

One of the central directions will be the creation of a transport framework that will be integrated into the global logistics system.

This implies the liberalization of transport services, allowing freight carriers to offer their services in the territories of other union countries during transportation. These measures are aimed at reducing costs, speeding up processes, and improving conditions for the movement of goods between the five states.

Another important aspect of the presidency is the implementation of artificial intelligence technologies.

This area is the most dynamically developing segment of the global economy. Danil Ibraev noted that in 2025, this sector generated about $10 trillion, and these technologies should be integrated within the framework of the union's project. This concerns areas such as industry, services, trade, and finance.

Priority is also given to the full implementation of the agreement on the four freedoms.

This includes ensuring the unhindered movement of goods so that they can move freely between all five states of the union.
