In the history of the European Union, the first case has been recorded where no petroleum products were imported from Russia in January. This became possible thanks to information provided by Eurostat, which has been tracking trade statistics since 1999.

Against this backdrop, the main exporters of petroleum products to the EU became Saudi Arabia, the USA, the United Kingdom, India, and Singapore.

It is worth noting that in December 2025, the volume of supplies from Russia amounted to 22.3 million dollars. Throughout the previous year, the European Union purchased petroleum products from Russia worth 166.8 million euros, which is almost half of what it was in 2024.

As of January 2026, the main suppliers of petroleum products to the European Union were Saudi Arabia (877.5 million euros), the USA (725 million euros), the United Kingdom (346.7 million euros), India (263.4 million euros), and Singapore (216.2 million euros).
