According to the latest data, from January to September of this year, there has been a significant increase in the volume of bank lending in Kyrgyzstan, especially in the sectors of consumer loans, trade, and mortgage lending.
The report from the National Statistical Committee shows that as of October 1, the credit portfolio of the banking sector amounted to 461.1 billion soms, which is an increase of 1.5 times compared to the same period last year, or by 160.3 billion soms.
The majority of loans—379.1 billion soms, or 82.2% of the total portfolio—were issued in the national currency.
The structure of lending is distributed as follows:
Consumer loans account for 165.1 billion soms (35.8%);
Trade — 109.4 billion soms (23.7%);
Mortgage lending — 50.7 billion soms (11%);
Agriculture — 49.7 billion soms (10.8%).
The portfolio structure is dominated by long-term loans, which make up 87.4%, while short-term loans account for 12.6%.
Bishkek leads in lending volumes, accounting for 52% of the total portfolio, followed by the Jalal-Abad region with 10.1%.
The increase in credit activity indicates the stability of the country's financial sector and the growing interest of the population and businesses in borrowed funds.
