Every two years it will increase by one year
Starting from January 1, 2026, the minimum work experience required to receive a pension in Kyrgyzstan will be raised from five to six years.
In 2024, a minimum work experience of 5 years was established in the country, which allowed for receiving a full pension. Previously, women had to reach the age of 58 to retire, while men had to reach 63, with a minimum of 20 years of experience required.
Now, a gradual increase in the minimum work experience will begin. Every two years it will rise by one year, and by 2045 it is planned that it will reach 20 years. This change is aimed at encouraging citizens to accumulate more work experience.
Additionally, starting from October 1, 2025, the minimum pension amount (including all allowances) in Kyrgyzstan will range from 7,100 to 7,500 soms. After indexing, the average pension amount will exceed 11,200 soms. The basic part of the pension is 3,170 soms, while the remaining amount is the insurance part, which depends on the total work experience.
