- On February 9, a meeting took place at the headquarters of the Eurasian Economic Commission between Bakytzhan Sagintayev, Chairman of the EEC Board, and Nyam-Osoryn Uchral, Chairman of the Great State Khural of Mongolia.

The parties discussed the importance of the prompt entry into force of the Temporary Trade Agreement between the EAEU and Mongolia.

It is expected that after the Agreement comes into effect, over 90% of export supplies from EAEU countries to Mongolia, with a total value of $2 billion, will be covered by tariff preferences. These measures will help entrepreneurs from the Eurasian Union states save up to $100 million annually.

“Currently, work is actively underway to prepare for the entry into force of the Temporary Trade Agreement. The Commission's Council has already approved an Action Plan for the implementation of the document for the EAEU,” noted the head of the EEC Board.

The foreign trade turnover between the EAEU states and Mongolia in 2024 amounted to about $3 billion, which is an increase of 2.2 times compared to 2015. A positive trend in mutual trade is also observed in 2025.

On June 27, 2025, in Minsk, during a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, the Temporary Trade Agreement was signed between the Eurasian Economic Union and its members, as well as Mongolia.
