The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan detained three of those who signed the appeal for early presidential elections

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the detainees are suspected of attempting to organize mass riots. As part of this case, Bekbolot Talgarbekov, Emil Uzakbaev, and Kurmanbek Dyykanbaev were detained.

On February 9, 2026, information was published on various internet resources and media that 75 citizens appealed to the President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov and the Chairman of the Jogorku Kenesh Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu, demanding the immediate organization of new presidential elections. This appeal was signed by scientists, former prime ministers, former deputies, and public figures.

Some formulations in this appeal caused significant public resonance and heightened political tension in the country.

In this regard, the Investigative Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs initiated a criminal case, classified under part 1 of Article 278 (Mass Riots) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Currently, 75 citizens who signed the appeal have been delivered to the Investigative Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and investigative actions are being conducted with them.

Among the initiators and active participants of this crime, individuals have been identified and detained: T.B. born in 1955, U.E. born in 1955, and D.K. born in 1960, who have been placed in custody in accordance with Article 96 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Searches were also conducted at the residences of the detainees. Investigative actions are ongoing.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs calls on citizens to remain vigilant and not to succumb to provocations, as well as to avoid spreading false information.
