Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan Aim to Strengthen Cooperation in the Agricultural Sector

The Deputy Prime Minister, who also serves as the Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry, Bakyt Torobaev, held a meeting with the Minister of Agriculture of Tajikistan, Kurbon Hakimzoda. This was reported by the press service of the Cabinet.

During the meeting, the participants discussed key areas for further cooperation in the agricultural sector. In particular, issues were considered regarding the enhancement of the genetic potential of livestock through the exchange of breeding bulls and pedigree yaks, as well as the modernization and development of cotton processing. Additionally, the parties exchanged experiences in crop production and animal husbandry and discussed opportunities for joint scientific research.

As a result of the negotiations, an agreement was reached to establish a working group that will develop a roadmap for future joint projects. There are also plans to develop programs for the exchange of specialists, organize seminars, and improve staff qualifications.

This meeting took place as part of the first session of the Intergovernmental Council of the Kyrgyz Republic and Tajikistan.
