According to sources from Kaktus.media, the detention of the former head of the GKNB department for Bishkek, Eldar Zhakypbekov, took place at the temporary detention facility of the Bishkek City Police Department.
It is reported that the detention is related to an investigation being conducted by the Military Prosecutor's Office. No additional information on this case is currently available.
Ulan Biibosunov, who previously headed the internal investigations service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan and worked as an advisor to the Minister of Internal Affairs, has now taken the position of head of the Main Department of the GKNB for Bishkek.
