
On February 14, 2026, an attempt to illegally transport livestock across the border between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan was prevented, according to information provided by the Border Service of Kyrgyzstan.
The incident occurred in the Leilek district, near the area known as "Tajik Nasos" in the rural administration of Zhanı Jer. The border patrol, responsible for securing the border, detained a citizen of Kyrgyzstan with the initials N.E.M.
During the inspection, it was revealed that this citizen was attempting to illegally transport livestock from Kyrgyzstan to the Tajik side, bypassing official checkpoints.
As a result of the conducted measures, 10 head of cattle were detained, which, according to preliminary information, were intended for illegal transportation across the border.
The detainee, along with the livestock, was sent to the unit of the State Border Service for further investigation and processing in accordance with current legislation.
The State Border Service reminds that violations of borders and attempts to illegally transport goods and animals may result in liability as provided by the laws of the Kyrgyz Republic.
