This increase amounts to approximately 1.31 million tons, or about 14.2%. The departmental data notes that for a significant period, the average annual volume of freight transportation by rail in the country remained at around 7 million tons; however, since 2022, there has been a steady trend of growth.
Additionally, the freight turnover increased from 1,075.5 million ton-kilometers in 2024 to 1,223.4 million ton-kilometers in 2025.
