The Problem of Terrorism in Pakistan
In Pakistan, frequent armed attacks occur in provinces such as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, which border Afghanistan. These regions serve as bases for various armed groups that claim to protect the interests of the Pashtun and Baloch peoples. The attacks are directed both against Pakistani security forces and the civilian population.
Islamabad accuses the Pakistani wing of the Taliban of conducting its operations from Afghanistan; however, the authorities in Kabul deny these accusations.
In Balochistan, the most prominent group is the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), which advocates for the separation of the province from Pakistan and the transfer of governance of the region to the Baloch people.
