Kuvanychbek Kongantiev has submitted a request to the Central Commission for Elections and Referendums for the early termination of his powers as a deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh.

This issue is expected to be considered at the meeting of the Central Election Commission on March 10.

Deputy Kongantiev, representing electoral district No. 21 (Lenin District of Bishkek), was elected with 13,379 votes. In parliament, he is a member of the deputy group "El ümitü Ata-Jurt" and heads the committee dealing with industrial policy, transportation, energy, architecture, and construction.

Kongantiev previously had experience working in the Bishkek City Council and is the son of former Attorney General Kambarly Kongantiev and the nephew of ex-Minister of Internal Affairs Moldomus Kongantiev.

Recently, a video appeared on social media discussing Kongantiev's business assets and connections. The author of the material claims that his relatives own numerous companies and businesses. There are also reports of his connections with oligarch Taimuraz Tashiev.

At the moment, Kuvanychbek Kongantiev has not made any official comments regarding these rumors.

According to media reports, Chyngyz Aydarbekov may be appointed to his position, sources say.
