The new procedure adopted by the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan concerns the implementation of precious metals intended for jewelry. The resolution was signed by Adylbek Kasymaliev, who heads the Cabinet of Ministers.
The purpose of adopting this document is to align the legislation of Kyrgyzstan regulating operations with precious metals and stones with existing laws, namely the Law "On Precious Metals and Precious Stones" and the presidential decree concerning support for certain sectors of the economy. This grants jewelry manufacturers the right to purchase precious metals and stones that have been acquired by the Cabinet of Ministers with priority, providing them with raw materials for creating jewelry within the country, in the manner established by the Cabinet of Ministers, as stated in the government announcement.
According to the new resolution, the sale of precious metals to domestic jewelers will be carried out with a 2% discount from the fixing of the London Bullion Market Association.
Additionally, purchasing points and pawnshops working with precious metals and stones may sell jewelry, as well as scrap precious metals and stones, to the authorized state body responsible for implementing state policy in this area, excluding the items themselves.
