The deputy proposed to extend the taxi licensing period, as only 7,500 out of 70,000 taxi drivers in Bishkek have received licenses.

- During the plenary session of the Jogorku Kenesh on January 28, 2026, Deputy Dastan Bekeshev voiced the need to extend the taxi licensing deadlines.

He noted that the current deadline expires on February 1, 2026.

As of today, only 7,500 out of 70,000 taxi drivers in Bishkek have managed to obtain a license.

Dastan Bekeshev emphasized that if the licensing deadlines are not extended, it could lead to an increase in unemployment and a rise in taxi prices.
