The establishment of the committee became possible thanks to the agreement on climate cooperation between the two states, signed in 2024. The Secretariat of this body has been designated as the Climate Finance Center, which operates under the Cabinet of Ministers. All relevant ministries and agencies are required to provide support in the committee's activities.
Composition of the Kyrgyz delegation to the Joint Committee on Climate Change Cooperation
- Deputy Minister of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision, responsible for state policy in the field of ecology and climate (co-chair from the Kyrgyz side);
- Deputy Minister of Finance, dealing with issues of external financial and technical assistance within the framework of state investments;
- Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce, overseeing policy in the field of green economy;
- Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs;
- Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Korea;
- Director of the Climate Finance Center under the Cabinet of Ministers.
