Film from Kyrgyzstan 'Red Shoes' to be shown at the film festival in Finland
The Tampere Film Festival in Finland, which will take place from March 4 to 8, 2026, will serve as the platform for the international premiere of the film "Red Shoes" directed by Alina Baytokova. This information was announced by the Film Development Fund of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The film is a winner of the pitching session at the XI Forum of Young Cinema "Umut".

The plot tells the story of a five-year-old girl named Jamal, who lives with her grandmother in a village. One day, she notices the red shoes of a woman who enters their home, and when she looks up, she sees a beautiful stranger whom she likes very much.

Among the cast are performers such as Regina Talantbekova, Anara Nazarkulova, and Aisanat Edigeeva.

The Tampere Film Festival is accredited by the International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPF) and is among the top five festivals dedicated to documentary and short films. This festival, along with Oberhausen and Clermont-Ferrand, is considered one of the most significant in Europe and was founded in 1969.
