
The Cabinet has approved a resolution that regulates the work of the National Academy of Sciences under the President.
Within the framework of this document, the charter of the Academy has been approved, as well as the rules for the functioning of the coordinating council engaged in fundamental and applied research in science and innovation. The procedure for electing new members of the Academy has also been defined.
This act emphasizes the importance of scientific expertise and introduces the obligation to prepare two main reports: an annual national science report for the president and a report on achievements in science for the Cabinet of Ministers.
In addition, the resolution outlines the qualifications required for Academy members, age restrictions, mechanisms for academic accountability, as well as ethical code norms for employees and measures to prevent conflicts of interest in scientific and administrative activities.
