According to this resolution, the charter of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic was approved, as well as the regulations for the coordination council that deals with fundamental and applied research in science and innovative technologies, and the rules for the election of academy members.
The document also defines the legal status of the academy and emphasizes the importance of scientific expertise in its activities.
The Academy of Sciences is now required to prepare two reports: an annual national science report for the president and an annual report on scientific achievements for the cabinet of ministers.
In addition, the election of academy members has been organized — qualification requirements, age limits, and mechanisms for academic accountability have been established. Norms regarding the code of ethics for employees of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic and measures to prevent conflicts of interest in scientific and administrative work have also been introduced.
