Karen Dallakyan, president of the "Save Me" foundation and a leading veterinarian from Russia, performed surgical interventions for birds of prey at the rehabilitation center "Zoo Bishkek." This initiative is part of the program "Mission - Good," as reported by the press service of Rossotrudnichestvo in Kyrgyzstan.
“Together with colleagues from Kyrgyzstan, we examined and operated on a white-tailed eagle and a buzzard. The preparation for treatment was quick — we managed to find all the necessary tools and materials. The process lasted about two hours, and every minute was important, but in the end, we succeeded! The birds were operated on, the pathologies were eliminated, and their lives are now safe,” shared the Russian specialist.
The birds of prey suffered from broken wings and lower limbs. After successful surgeries, they are feeling well and are under the supervision of the staff at "Zoo Bishkek."
According to Vladislav Shevchenko, the director of the center, they often receive birds of prey with various injuries. It is not always possible for them to perform complex surgeries.
“We are very glad that a leading veterinarian from Russia came to us. This is a great opportunity for joint treatment of our charges and for exchanging experiences,” he added.
Additionally, Karen Dallakyan visited the veterinary medicine center "Pyramid," where he held consultations for his Kyrgyz colleagues. On February 5, he also spoke to students at the Kyrgyz National Agrarian University named after Konstantin Skryabin, sharing his experience working with exotic, wild, and circus animals.
