Russian veterinarian Karen Dallakyan arrives in Bishkek to save rare birds

From February 2 to 6, 2023, the capital of Kyrgyzstan will host the international volunteer program "Mission GOOD." In this ninth visit to the republic, the focus will be on animal protection and the rehabilitation of wild birds. The main event will be the work at the "Zoo Bishkek" center by Russian veterinarian Karen Dallakyan, who is the president of the "Save Me" foundation.

Dallakyan, a recognized expert in wild animals, will conduct a series of complex surgeries and consultations for birds that have been injured by poachers or accidents in nature. For ornithologists and veterinarians in Kyrgyzstan, this is a unique opportunity to gain knowledge from a specialist with 25 years of experience, who is capable of returning even the most challenging patients to their natural environment. Birds play a key role in the country's ecosystem, and their conservation is an important task for ensuring ecological safety.

The "Mission GOOD" program, which began its work in 2021 thanks to the efforts of Rossotrudnichestvo and the Dobro.rf Association, has reached over 20 countries and has provided assistance to thousands of people and animals. The current visit marks a new stage of cooperation between Russia and Kyrgyzstan, where the exchange of knowledge in veterinary medicine contributes to the preservation of the region's unique fauna.
