The Mandatory Health Insurance Fund reimbursed pharmacies over 409 million soms for subsidized medications

The Mandatory Health Insurance Fund (MHIF) has compensated pharmacy networks in the amount of 409.7 million soms for medications provided through subsidized prescriptions in 2025. This has enabled thousands of insured citizens of Kyrgyzstan to receive necessary treatment, paying only a portion of the cost of medications.

According to the MHIF, subsidized medications are prescribed by family doctors solely based on medical indications. Prescriptions are issued electronically and comply with a special directory containing over 800 medication names.

This program is available exclusively for insured and registered citizens. Medications can be obtained at pharmacies that collaborate with the Mandatory Health Insurance Fund.

Patients only pay a portion of the cost of the medications; the MHIF reimburses up to 50% of the price as a discount. This mechanism aims to reduce the financial burden on families and allows patients to undergo treatment without interruptions.

Additionally, the fund urged citizens to check their insurance status and consult with family doctors for advice and prescription of subsidized medications. For any inquiries, you can contact the MHIF's 24-hour hotline at 113. Calls are free.
