The Mandatory Health Insurance Fund (MHIF) reminded citizens about the cases when they can expect free hospitalization or receive medical services with benefits.
According to the MHIF, there has been an increase in calls to the hotline "113" from people experiencing financial difficulties when being admitted to hospitals. The main reason is the lack of a mandatory health insurance (MHI) policy, which forces patients to pay for treatment at maximum rates.
Here’s what everyone should know:
The presence of a policy is not just a formality; it is a key condition for receiving benefits under the state program.
Free emergency medical assistance is available only in intensive care units as long as the patient is in a life-threatening condition. After that, treatment in a hospital requires co-payment, the amount of which depends on the presence of insurance.
The MHIF strongly warns that a policy cannot be issued while in the hospital. The policy must be valid at the time of admission to the hospital.

Ensure the relevance of your MHI policy by checking it through Tunduk, on the official website, or by calling the MHIF hotline at 113.
Do not postpone the purchase of a policy until the occurrence of an insured event; act in advance.
