To address the issue of insufficient irrigation water in the Ak-Su district of the Issyk-Kul region, drip and sprinkler irrigation technologies will be implemented. This was reported by Nurzat Kaliev, head of the district water management department.

According to the information available at the moment, there are 400 hectares of irrigated land in the area. This year, it is planned to convert 20 hectares to drip irrigation and 250 hectares to sprinkler irrigation. Work is also underway to improve the irrigation water supply system.

Currently, 5 kilometers of channels have already been mechanically cleaned out of the planned 25, as well as 8 kilometers of internal canal networks. After the snow melts, it is planned to carry out repair work on one reservoir and three pumping stations,” Kaliev added.
